Medical Grade Dermalux® LED

Dermalux® LED phototherapy is a cutting-edge, non-invasive treatment that uses clinically proven light energy to rejuvenate and repair the skin.

This advanced therapy harnesses the power of natural light to stimulate the body’s own healing processes, resulting in healthier, more radiant skin.

Dermalux® LED is effective in treating a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, rosacea, pigmentation, and signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.

With no downtime or discomfort, this treatment is suitable for all skin types and can be integrated into any skincare routine to enhance overall skin health and appearance.

Treatment Mechanism & Wavelength Profile
The clinical efficacy of Dermalux phototherapy depends entirely on delivered energy density (joules per square centimeter) and precise spectral purity. Our medical-grade canopy utilizes narrowband light-emitting diodes (LEDs) calibrated to three distinct, non-thermal wavelengths to trigger targeted cellular bio-stimulation without thermal tissue damage or ultraviolet degradation.

415nm Blue Light (Targeted Antimicrobial Action): This wavelength is absorbed by endogenous porphyrins within Cutibacterium acnes (the bacteria responsible for acne vulgaris) which triggers a photochemical reaction that generates singlet oxygen, rapidly destroying the bacterial cell wall from within. It reduces active breakouts and prevents future lesions without skin irritation.

633nm Red Light (Mitochondrial ATP Upsegulation): This spectrum targets the cytochrome c oxidase enzyme within cell mitochondria. By absorbing this light energy, cellular respiration is accelerated, maximizing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis. This surge in cellular fuel stimulates fibroblast activity, upregulating the structural synthesis of Type I collagen and elastin networks and increases systemic microcirculation.

830nm Near-Infrared Light (Deep Tissue Repair & Lymphatic Drainage): Penetrating the deepest layers of the subcutaneous tissue, near-infrared energy accelerates growth factor release and modulates the local inflammatory cascade. It downregulates pro-inflammatory cytokines, making it essential for calming vascular erythema in rosacea, accelerating wound healing post-needling, and accelerating lymphatic clearance.

Rather than operating as a superficial aesthetic facial, our LED phototherapy is deployed as a controlled medical treatment program configured for distinct skin pathologies:

Acne Vulgaris & Sebaceous Regulation
For persistent breakouts, papules, and pustules, we run a combined 415nm and 633nm protocol. The blue light neutralizes the bacterial load within the pilosebaceous unit, while the red light calms the surrounding inflammatory redness and initiates tissue repair to minimize the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and structural scarring.
Vascular Erythema & Rosacea Management
Chronic redness, flushing, and impaired barrier function are treated primarily with 830nm near-infrared energy. This protocol stabilizes hyper-reactive vascular walls, reduces the cellular swelling associated with flare-ups, and speeds up the structural integrity of the epidermal lipid barrier to lower transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Accelerated Post-Procedure Recovery
Following high-intensity, skin-breaking clinical interventions, such as medical Microneedling, skin-pen treatments, or deep Chemical Peels,. The skin's natural healing timeline can be compressed by up to 50%. Administering 830nm and 633nm light immediately post-procedure reduces downtime by instantly downregulating trauma signals, speeding up re-epithelialization, and suppressing post-treatment swelling.

Architectural Co-Prescription & Synergy
At Symmetry Aesthetics, Dermalux LED is rarely used in isolation. We integrate it into a multi-modality regenerative framework to amplify cell-signaling outcomes.

When performed immediately after mechanical skin-needling, the microscopic channels created in the epidermis remain receptive to active topicals. The application of medical-grade Exosome serums or advanced Polynucleotides structures, followed by a 20-minute LED session, hyper-activates the target fibroblasts. While the needling provides the mechanical stimulus and the topicals supply the cellular blueprints, the LED delivery supplies the absolute ATP cellular energy required for rapid, optimal structural matrix reconstruction.

During Your Visit

The target skin area is thoroughly cleansed using a non-residue, medical-grade cleanser to strip surface sebum, SPF, and debris that could reflect or refract incoming light waves. Eye protection is securely fitted to block intense spectral glare.
The specialized LED panel is positioned precisely 1 to 2 inches away from the skin surface to guarantee maximum photon absorption. The system runs its pre-programmed wave cycle for exactly 20 to 30 minutes, delivering a constant, heat-free flux of light. Patients experience a mild, relaxing sensation of localized warmth as blood flow increases.
Immediately following canopy shutdown, the skin is treated with a barrier-supporting, non-comedogenic broad-spectrum physical sunscreen (zinc oxide/titanium dioxide) to protect the newly stimulated epidermal cells from ambient UV stress during transport.

Our process ensures a comfortable and effective experience, promoting optimal skin health and visible improvements.
What is Dermalux® LED?
Dermalux® LED is a revolutionary skin treatment that utilizes light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to deliver safe, controlled light energy to the skin. This phototherapy technique involves using different wavelengths of light, such as blue, red, and near-infrared, to target various skin conditions. Blue light is effective against acne-causing bacteria, red light stimulates collagen production and reduces inflammation, and near-infrared light promotes healing and reduces redness. Dermalux® LED is a versatile treatment that can address multiple skin concerns, providing a comprehensive approach to skin rejuvenationwithout the need for invasive procedures.
How does it work?
Dermalux® LED treatment works by exposing the skin to specific wavelengths of light that penetrate the layers of the skin. These wavelengths are absorbed by the skin cells, triggering natural processes that rejuvenate and repair the skin. Red light increases collagen and elastin production, improving skin elasticity and reducing fine lines. Blue light targets and destroys acne-causing bacteria, reducing breakouts. Near-infrared light promotes cell regeneration and reduces inflammation. The treatment is non-thermal, meaning it doesn’t produce heat, ensuring a comfortable experience. Regular sessions can lead to significant improvements in your skin.

Most Popular Questions

Dermalux LED light therapy harnesses three clinically proven wavelengths—red, near-infrared, and blue light—each targeting the skin at different depths to achieve specific results. Treatments can use one wavelength or a combination, tailored to your skin’s needs.

Blue light targets acne at all stages, helping prevent breakouts by eliminating bacteria without irritating the skin. It’s gentle enough for daily sessions, meaning acne-prone skin can be treated quickly and effectively with minimal downtime.

Red light promotes anti-aging and rejuvenation by stimulating collagen production, improving cell function, and enhancing microcirculation and lymphatic activity. It hydrates and revitalises the skin, smoothing fine lines and slowing early signs of aging.

Infrared light penetrates deepest, accelerating tissue repair and growth factor release. Often paired with red light, it supports collagen and elastin production, reduces inflammation, and improves skin elasticity. Infrared light is especially effective for rosacea, redness, psoriasis, and visible signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles.

After a single Dermalux session, your skin may already appear more hydrated, radiant, and calmer, with noticeable reduction in redness and irritation.

Because every person’s skin and concerns differ, multiple sessions are usually needed to achieve the full benefits of LED therapy. During your consultation, a skin specialist will design a personalised plan tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Ongoing top-up treatments are recommended to maintain and prolong the improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall health.
