Mole Mapping

Mole Mapping

Mole Mapping is a specialized skin examination technique that documents the condition of moles and lesions on your body. At Symmetry Aesthetics, we use high-resolution digital photography and dermatoscopy to create a comprehensive visual record of your skin. This service aims to monitor changes over time, helping to detect skin abnormalities early.

By providing a detailed baseline, Mole Mapping ensures a proactive approach to your skin health. Additionally, this thorough documentation aids in distinguishing benign moles from potentially malignant ones, reducing unnecessary biopsies and removals. Regular monitoring through Mole Mapping allows us to identify subtle changes that may indicate skin cancer, thereby facilitating timely interventions and improving treatment outcomes. Our commitment to advanced technology and meticulous care ensures that you receive the highest standard of skin health management.

How It Works?

Our Process

Our Mole Mapping process at Symmetry Aesthetics begins with an in-depth consultation to understand your skin history and concerns. We then use a dermatoscope to capture magnified images of your moles and lesions. These images are stored in your Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for future reference. During each follow-up visit, we compare new images with the baseline to detect any changes, ensuring early detection and treatment of potential issues.
What is Mole Mapping?
Mole Mapping is a systematic photographic documentation of your entire body’s moles and skin lesions. Using high-resolution and magnified images, this technique provides a detailed baseline of your skin’s appearance. These images are used to monitor changes over time, helping in the early detection of skin cancer and other skin conditions. Mole Mapping is particularly beneficial for individuals with many moles or those at higher risk of skin cancer.
How does it work?
The treatment involves taking detailed photographs of your skin using a dermatoscope. These images are stored digitally and used as a reference point for future skin examinations. During follow-up visits, we compare new images to the baseline to identify any changes in the size, shape, or color of moles. If a mole appears suspicious, further examination or a biopsy may be recommended. This method helps in detection and reduces unnecessary mole removals.
